Leeds United director of football Victor Orta was on the receiving end of crowd-chanting at Preston North End on Tuesday night as the Whites fell to a 3-1 defeat.

Fans were reacting to speculation that had emerged, linking him with a move to La Liga’s Deportivo La Coruna, where he would reportedly take over from Richard Barra who left the DoF post in January.

There were also claims that La Coruna want the position filled by the middle of April.

The seemingly unpopular Spaniard is the person Leeds fans hold responsible for bringing in a host of mediocre players to Elland Road, who they see as not being good enough for the club.

The likes of Felix Wiedwald, Jay-Roy Grot, and Mateusz Klich are all Orta signings and the unrest amongst supporters is palpable.

According to Phil Hay, chief sports writer of the Yorkshire Evening Post’s Twitter account, the Whites faithful were chanting “Orta out.”

Fans have reacted to this in their masses on Twitter and there were suggestions from pockets of supporters for Paul Heckingbottom to be shown the exit door along with Orta, and for Mick McCarthy to take the place of Heck.

Here is a selection of Whites supporters reactions about the situation on social media:
