'Best thing the club has done', 'Amazing news' - Leeds fans react to official club update

Leeds United have announced that Pablo Hernandez has agreed on a new deal with the club that will see him remain at the Championship outfit for a further two years and fans are in raptures.

It was news that was officially revealed via the Whites website and Twitter feed.

The Spaniard is universally popular amongst the Whites faithful who they see as a key player in their pursuit for a return to the Premier League.

And it comes at a time where the board are facing a wave of criticism for their decision to head to the Far East once the Championship season ends.

There had been talk that the 33-year-old might be on his way to Birmingham City to link up with Gary Monk this summer when his contract was due to expire at Elland Road and it looked as though the club might be willing to let the influential midfielder leave.

It’s a decision that would have been hugely unpopular though, given the fact that Hernandez has totalled nine goals and ten assists this season, making him one of the Whites most consistent performers this season.

However, Thursday’s announcement will put an end to any speculation surrounding the former Valencia ace’s future at Elland Road.
