Leeds United fans have taken to social media to react to news that manager Paul Heckingbottom has chosen to keep Samu Saiz on the bench for the club’s away clash against Aston Villa on Friday.

The Whites confirmed their starting XI via their official Twitter account, which confirmed that the boss had made three changes from the bitterly disappointing 3-1 defeat at the hands of Preston North End on Tuesday, a result which meant the club have picked up just two wins since the start of 2018.

Tom Pearce, Matthew Pennington and Ezgjan Alioski come in to replace Vurnon Anita, Pontus Jansson and Jay-Roy Grot with the Elland Road outfit looking to pull off an unlikely victory against Steve Bruce and his men, who currently sit fourth in the table and could move within two points of second placed Fulham, albeit having played a game extra.

Leeds meanwhile sit 10 places lower than the Villans in 14th, but know that a win would push them above south east rivals Ipswich Town and Norwich City into 12th, as the Championship enters its final four games.

However, despite the changes, it was the decision to keep Saiz on the bench which had the Leeds faithful fuming on Twitter, with many claiming that it signals the end of either Heckingbottom’s, or the Spaniard’s, time at Elland Road.
