Reading have not won a game at home in the Championship on a Saturday all season and have not won at home at all since November, in a stat revealed ahead of the visit of Leeds United to the Madejski Stadium.
It was a fact that should have given supporters of the Whites hope going into the match but their reaction was anything other than positive.
Given the Royals run of form, this is a game which the Yorkshire club should be looking at getting something out of if they are going to claw back the nine-point advantage the sides in the play offs currently have.
Paul Heckingbottom’s side were battered on social media following their latest defeat in the Championship against Wolves on Wednesday night.
It was a performance from the Leeds players where it looked as though they knew they were beaten before a ball had even been kicked and were flattered by the 3-0 scoreline.
Leeds have been one of the teams to lead an inquiry into the role superagent Jorge Mendes has at Molineux.
But rather thank worrying themselves with affairs at other clubs, they need to be focusing on matters on the pitch.
Here is a selection of Twitter responses to the bizarre statistic:
…step forward LEEDS UNITED 🙁
