'One of our best', 'Best news this year' - Leeds fans react to official player update

Leeds United right-back Luke Ayling was spotted at the Whites training ground at Thorp Arch on Friday where he was undergoing light-training.

The 26-year-old has been out of action since January following an ankle injury which required an operation to repair damaged cartilage that was sustained in the draw with Nottingham Forest.

Leeds Tweeted the news of the player in action on the club’s official feed and wrote, “LUFC defender Luke Ayling continues his comeback with a light training session at Thorp Arch.”

And after witnessing the player’s comeback trail supporters could not be happier to see his proximity to fitness of the right-back, who as one of the club’s most consistent performers, has been sorely missed.

Leeds’ form has been abysmal without the full-back in the side – in fact, the club have only recorded two wins since Ayling’s injury saw him ruled out for the remainder of the season.

Worryingly for supporters though, is that with Andrea Radrizzani set to make wholesale changes to the side, there are concerns that the full-back could be on that list of changes.

However, after only agreeing to new terms with the Yorkshire outfit last October until 2021 those concerns might be premature.
