Leeds United U23 manager Carlos Corberan, 35, has congratulated his players on Twitter for their performances this season following the 4-0 hammering of Bristol City U23s in the final game of the season.

And in response, supporters have been calling for him to be made the Whites senior manager.

Compared to the first-team, the youth side have had a far more successful season and one which has seen the emergence of a number of youngsters from the set-up.

Tom Pearce, Bailey Peacock-Farrell and Paudie O’Connor have all made the step-up from the U23 and now there are fans who want to see Corberan heading in the same direction.

Since taking over from Thomas Christiansen in February, Paul Heckingbottom’s tenure at the club has come under increased scrutiny, particularly amongst supporters.

The Whites have managed just three victories under the former Barnsley boss’ – the most recent of those coming at the weekend against the Tykes.

In fact, results have been relegation standard and had the club not had such a good start to the campaign they could have been heading for League One.

Here is a round-up of Twitter reactions from supporters after Corberan’s social media posts:
