Leeds fans react on Twitter to Chris Wood display v Derby

By Emma Sanders

Leeds fans reacted with delight on Twitter to Chris Wood’s display against Derby during Friday evening’s 1-0 victory.

The two teams went head-to-head in the Championship fixture at Elland Road and Wood was once again one of the stars of the show as his side recorded a comfortable win.

Wood scored the game’s only goal in the first-half with a lovely header after Leeds had dominated for the first half an hour and he continued to cause a threat in front of goal.

The Leeds striker is in great form at the moment and he took his tally up to 14 goals in the Championship after following up his brace against Rotherham with a goal against Derby.

Fans were full of praise for Wood’s display as once again he showed why he is one of the club’s most important players despite Garry Monk bringing through plenty of attacking quality this season.

Here is a selection of the messages on Twitter:

Leeds were without key centre-back Pontus Jansson but they didn’t show it as they produced a commanding display to sweep aside Derby and record their sixth victory in seven games in all competitions.

It was their fifth clean sheet in a row at Elland Road in the Championship.

Monk’s side currently sit in third position in the Championship table after picking up all three points and they will hope to deliver a similar result against Barnsley next Saturday.
