Leeds fans react on Twitter to Doukara playing the striker role v Fulham

By Harvey Byrne

Leeds fans on Twitter are worried about the prospect of Souleymane Doukara leading their forward line against Fulham.

It was reported by Yorkshire Evening Post chief football writer Phil Hay in the build-up to the match at Craven Cottage that top scorer Chris Wood  would miss out on the clash due to a calf strain.

This has resulted in Garry Monk opting to use Frenchman Doukara as the lone forward in his favoured 4-2-3-1 formation.

However, this has not been received too greatly by the Yorkshire giants’ fan base with many on social media wondering how the attacker even gets in the team.

One fan was wondering where the goals will come from in the line-up, while another claimed they would have started Marcus Antonsson.

Doukara, 25, has featured in 29 matches for Leeds in all competitions this season, returning with five goals and three assists.

He has been used on the wing for large parts of this season with Monk a clear fan of his impressive work rate.

However, his technical ability is sometimes questionable and fans will be hoping that does not become apparent once more in the crucial Tuesday evening match.
