Leeds fans react on Twitter to Huddersfield defeat against Burton

By Dominic Toner

Huddersfield suffered a defeat against Burton on Saturday afternoon – and Leeds fans were quick to celebrate the result on Twitter.

Huddersfield were beaten 1-0 at home as Jackson Irvine scored a dramatic 96th minute winner.

The result means they stay third in the Championship table and that Leeds will leapfrog them if they win their game on Saturday evening.

The Whites travel to fellow play-off rivals Reading for an important league fixture and will hope to overtake their Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield.

Leeds fans voiced their delight over the defeat to David Wagner’s side and are willing them to capitalise on the result.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Leeds will now be fully focused on their own match and could take another stride towards promotion with a victory.

Garry Monk’s side still have an outside bet of reaching the automatic spots in the table, but if not will have to go through the drama of the play-offs.

They would play the sixth-placed team if they can finish in third and have a supposedly easier route to the final at Wembley.

Leeds did manage to beat Reading 2-0 in the previous meeting this season and will be keen to stretch their current unbeaten run this time around.
