'Would be a real asset' - Leeds fans react as reported offer for attacker is accepted

By Danny Wright

Liverpool have reportedly accepted a loan offer from Leeds for attacker Ryan Kent – and the Elland Road faithful are clearly excited about the news.

BBC Humberside reporter Mike White claimed on his personal Twitter account on Wednesday morning that the onus was now on Kent to choose his next destination after an offer from Hull was also accepted by Liverpool.

The Yorkshire Evening Post has reported that Leeds have already beaten their Yorkshire rivals Hull to the loan signing of Matthew Pennington from Everton, meaning that the Whites look to be the more exciting prospect to youngsters in the Premier League.

Kent spent last season on loan with Barnsley in the Championship so has a good understanding of the level that Leeds are at having made 47 appearances across all competitions for the Tykes last season.

It’s been a busy summer for Leeds’ new manager Thomas Christiansen, and he has clearly excited the fans with his summer purchases, with Kent’s potential arrival also prompting a reaction on Twitter – with one supporter saying that the attacker “would be a real asset” to the squad.

Here is a selection of their messages:

Kent has only ever made one senior appearance for Liverpool after rising through the ranks of their academy and has also had a loan spell with Coventry.

In other Leeds news, a Serie A club has entered talks to sign this 26-year-old Whites player.
