Leeds fans react on Twitter to Pontus Jansson display against Wigan
By Alex Stevens
Leeds fans took to Twitter to hail Pontus Jansson after the team’s 1-1 draw against Wigan on Tuesday.
Garry Monk’s side were denied a win by a stoppage time Shaun MacDonald goal after Chris Wood had given them the lead at Elland Road.
Leeds went ahead when Wood brought down Hadi Sacko’s cross and lashed home a half-volley. Michael Jacobs hit the post as Wigan fought back, while Jansson had a header cleared off the line for the home side.
Wood had a looping header brilliantly saved by Adam Bogdan before MacDonald scored via the woodwork as the Latics secured a third successive draw.
On-loan Jansson has emerged as a key member of Leeds’ team over the last month after leapfrogging Liam Cooper in the centre-back pecking order at Elland Road.
Fans took to social media to give their verdicts on Jansson’s display at the back against Wigan.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:
In other Leeds news, a senior player is destined to leave the club in January.
