Leeds fans react on Twitter after Radrizzani pictured on Barcelona mission

By Alex Stevens

Andrea Radrizzani was pictured in the stands during Barcelona’s sensational Champions League win over Paris Saint-Germain – and Leeds fans have reacted with humour on Twitter.

The Elland Road joint-owner was at Camp Nou on Wednesday for the match that was subsequently billed as one of the greatest ever football matches.

Barcelona scored three goals in the last two minutes to secure a sensational 6-1 victory on the night that secured them a place in the last eight of the Champions League.

It has been said that Radrizzani, who bought a 50 per cent stake in Leeds at the end of December, was in Barcelona to discuss fan ownership styles.

However, Leeds fans expressed their hope that the new Elland Road chief, who now joint owns the club with Massimo Cellino, was in Spain to scout potential new signings.

Some supporters made tongue-in-cheek suggestions that the Italian businessman could pull off a remarkable coup by signing a Barcelona first-team star.

Here is a selection of the messages on Twitter:

Leeds are back in action on Saturday when they host 14th-placed QPR in the Championship as they aim to keep their promotion bid on track.

In other Leeds news, the club are to pounce and re-sign a 23-year-old after a £10million transfer is all but sealed.
