Kemar Roofe was axed from the Leeds United team for their Championship clash against Birmingham tonight – and fans on Twitter accepted the decision as the by-product of sensible squad rotation.

The attacking midfielder has been in outstanding form of late, scoring five goals in three matches, four of which came as an emergency centre-forward.

But manager Thomas Christiansen has dropped Roofe for the Elland Road fixture against Harry Redknapp’s visitors, recalling Ezgjan Alioski in the only change from the side that demolished Burton 5-0 at the weekend.

Leeds fans have accepted the decision, as Alioski is also a player in form and has showed good signs since joining from Swiss club Lugano for £1.5million this summer.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Leeds are aiming to build upon an unbeaten run to the season from eight matches in all competitions.

Thomas Christiansen’s side have accumulated 14 points from six league fixtures to surge to second in the table.

In other Leeds United news, Alvin Martin has made an astonishing claim about Christiansen’s team that fans will love.
