Leeds fans react on Twitter to Roofe performance against Fulham

By Alex Stevens

Kemar Roofe was recalled to the Leeds starting XI in their 1-1 draw against Fulham on Tuesday night – and fans on Twitter gave mixed verdicts on his display.

The winger was given an 87-minute runout at Craven Cottage and looked only intermittently dangerous in a game in which the visitors relied almost exclusively on the counter-attack.

Roofe was unable to add to his three goals and six assists in all competitions this season but combined effectively at times with Souleymane Doukara, Alfonso Pedraza and Hadi Sacko.

Attacking midfielder Roofe had been handed the coveted central playmaker after being given the nod by manager Garry Monk ahead of the axed Pablo Hernandez.

It was one of five changes by Monk in a match in which Alfonso Pedraza, Kalvin Phillips, Charlie Taylor and Hadi Sacko were also recalled, with Stuart Dallas, Eunan O’Kane, Hernandez and the unavailable pair Chris Wood and Luke Ayling making way.

Fulham midfielder Tom Cairney secured a share of the spoils with a superb equaliser five minutes into stoppage time.

Leeds supporters gave different views onthe performance of Roofe and took to social media to give their verdicts.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Leeds remain on course for a place in the play-offs after consolidating their place at fourth in the Championship table with 65 points from 36 matches.

Monk’s team remain eight points clear of Fulham, who are in seventh in the table.

In other Leeds team news, the club are to pounce and re-sign a 23-year-old after a £10million transfer is all but sealed.
