Leeds fans are thrilled on Twitter after Pontus Jansson signed a deal with the club that will see him move permanently to Elland Road in the summer.
The 25-year-old, who is currently on loan from Serie A giants Torino, has repeatedly mentioned his desire to remain with the Yorkshire giants past his loan.
Leeds revealed on their website that the Sweden international has secured a three-and-a-half-year deal with Garry Monk’s side, keeping him in Yorkshire until the summer of 2020.
The defender has already become a huge fan favourite among the terraces at Elland Road this season, with a song even being made for the former Malmo star about his “magic hat”.
Striking a strong rapport with fellow loanee Kyle Bartley, Jansson scored his third goal of the season on Wednesday night to earn Leeds a late 2-1 win away at Blackburn Rovers.
Leeds fans are relieved on Twitter to see Jansson sign a permanent deal with the club, with some claiming that he could become a future captain should Leeds return to the Premier League.

Keeping 10 clean sheets, Leeds’ number 18 has proved an integral figure to Monk’s side and is expected to start from the off against Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield on Sunday.
