Leeds fans in mutiny amid speculation Wood deal is done
By Harry Sykes
Leeds United have reportedly agreed to sell Chris Wood to Burnley – and fans on Twitter are shattered at the prospect of their top striker leaving.
The Mirror claim the Yorkshire giants have accepted a third bid from the Premier League club for the 25-year-old, who topped the Championship goal charts last season.
It is said that Burnley will pay £15million plus add-ons for Wood after Sean Dyche made it clear that the New Zealand international was his first choice to replace Andre Gray.
The Mirror report that Wood will leave Leeds’ hotel in the north-east today and travel to Burnley to undergo a medical.
The Elland Road faithful are devastated at the prospect of Wood quitting with less than two weeks of the transfer window remaining.

One fan took the unusual step of paying thanks to former owner Massimo Cellino for sanctioning the £3million signing of the forward two years ago and enabling the club to make a massive profit on him.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:
What’s worse if wood leaves is clubs will know we are desperate for a striker and hike their own prices up. Lose lose if wood goes #lufc

If Wood leaves we need two strikers in 11 days, ones that will get 30 goals minimum between them. Not ideal #lufc

Have i missed something? Reading my timeline & seems Wood is definitely off to Burnley for less than the 2 rejected bids? Since when? #LUFC

PSA: Can y’all stop acting like Chris Wood’s already sold? You’re giving me terrors right as I’m bout to go to sleep. Thank you #lufc

The Mirror report that Leeds have offered the forward, 25, a three-year contract extension on his current £15,000-a-week deal in an attempt to persuade him to stay.
But Wood has made up his mind to end his two-year spell at Elland Road and join the top-flight outfit.
The forward’s future has come under the microscope in recent days amid strong interest from top-flight clubs, led by Burnley, who have set their sights on the Leeds spearhead after selling Andre Gray to Watford for £18million.
In other Leeds United transfer news, a striker with a brilliant scoring record has made an emphatic transfer decision following an approach from the Yorkshire giants.
