Leeds fans say the same thing about Ao Tanaka as ‘unreal’ stats emerge

Leeds United fans are deeply impressed with new boy Ao Tanaka after he ‘ran the show’ in their 3-0 Championship win over Plymouth on Saturday (November 3).

The 26-year-old made his sixth league start of the season as Leeds climbed into second in their chase for promotion back to the Premier League.

Daniel James, Joel Piroe, and Brendan Aaronson got the goals but Tanaka stole the show, taking the Man of the Match award home.

He ended the game with an impressive 91 per cent pass accuracy rate, having won five ground duels and made eight defensive recoveries.

With captain Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev still out injured, the Japan international has already started to pay off the £2.95million fee Leeds spent to sign him from Fortuna Dusseldorf.

Leeds fans delighted with Ao Tanaka

After a shaky start to the season, Daniel Farke’s side are gaining serious momentum, now unbeaten in their last eight Championship games.

The Elland Road faithful are hopeful once again, with many taking to X, formally known as Twitter, to praise the club for signing Tanaka.
