Leeds fans urge 25-year-old to stay after he comments about his future

By Amir Mir

Kyle Bartley has stated that if his parent club Swansea let him leave in the summer then he will be interested in joining Leeds – and fans on Twitter have urged him to sign permanently.

The 25-year-old centre-back is on-loan at Elland Road, where he has been an integral figure in Garry Monk’s promotion-chasing side.

As reported by Yorkshire Evening post reporter Lee Sobot on his personal Twitter, Bartley delivered this verdict on his future at the club.

Bartley has formed an excellent partnership with his fellow summer recruit Pontus Jansson at the heart of the club’s defence.

This has seen the duo help the Whites push up the table where, at this moment in time, they are securely sitting in the top six in the Championship.

One fan believes Bartley is just being nice to both Leeds and his parent club, who are currently fighting for relegation in the Premier League.

Another supporter felt that if the Welsh club are relegated at the end of the season then they might want to keep their player who has now built valuable experience in the second tier.

Furthermore, others were hoping he can sign permanently because they feel he has been very passionate about the Yorkshire club.

There was no surprise that many supporters were hoping he does sign as he now has the task of helping Monk clinch a top six place in the Championship.
