Leeds are set for a double injury boost as Gaetano Berardi and Mateusz Klich are set to take part in full training on Thursday, according to a report.
The Yorkshire Evening Post claims that Berardi missed the final match of the Whites’ pre-season tour of Austria due to a knock, but looks set to be back among Thomas Christiansen’s squad within the next few days.
Klich, who is one of many new signings made by Christiansen this summer, has been out of action since the friendly clash with Guiseley and is said to have been undergoing an intense fitness regime.
However, both are now set to return to Thorp Arch within the next few days after being given two days off following the squad’s return from Austria.
Berardi, 28, could be one of Christiansen’s options to replace Charlie Taylor in the main left-back position next season following the 23-year-old’s switch to Burnley.
The one-time Switzerland international missed almost the entirety of the first half of last season, but soon found himself key to Garry Monk’s plans as he earned 29 appeareances across all competitions.
Klich, 27, penned a three-year deal with the Whites in June and has since been joined by a whole host of new signings.
The Polish midfielder signed from FC Twente and is expected to be one of Christiansen’s key players as Leeds look to secure promotion to the Premier League.
