By Russell Edge
Leeds United have been given a boost in their pursuit of Lech Poznan winger Kamil Jozwiak after the player told his current club that he wanted to join the Whites following their bid, according to an insider.
Lukasz Borowicz, a spokesperson for the Polish side, revealed notes of a meeting between the 19-year-old speed machine’s representatives and the club’s officials via his personal Twitter account.

They state that the player’s agent said that he was not interested in signing a new contract, with his current deal set to expire in the summer of 2018, and that he wants to join the Yorkshire side after Poznan’s president Karol Climczak confirmed they had received a £177,000 bid for the youngster.
The notes on Leeds translate to: “During the meeting, the agent and father reported that they were not interested in the club’s offer and would like to transfer the player to Leeds United,” which will likely be a huge boost to the Whites’ chances of snapping him up.
Capped 17 times for Poland’s under-19 side international, Jozwiak has made just seven appearances from a possible 24 matches for Poznan across all competitions this season, with just three of those coming in the league.

Football Insider verdict
After the revelation of Leeds’ bid for the youngster, this deal looks like it is snowballing into something that the Whites might actually pull off. Poznan, while keen to retain one of their brightest youngsters, face the possibility of losing him for nothing in the summer, and so have a difficult decision to make. Accepting Leeds’ offer would ensure they secured some sort of transfer fee, however minor that might be, but waiting until June may see them be able to change his mind. Leeds can do very little but wait right now, hoping that they can snap up his services either in January or, if needs be, over the summer.
