Leeds handed significant Patrick Bamford boost – sources
Leeds United have been handed a positive injury boost ahead of their upcoming game against Burnley as Patrick Bamford could return to the squad.
The 31-year-old striker missed out on Leeds’ victory against Hull City before the international break due to injury, but he is edging closer to being available.
Sources have told Football Insider there is a chance that Bamford will be able to have some involvement against the Clarets on 14 September.
It is unlikely that the former England international will be able to play a full 90 minutes, but having him in the squad would boost Daniel Farke’s attacking options.
Bamford hasn’t started a game in the Championship yet this season, having spent his summer dealing with fitness issues.
That has led to him falling down the pecking order, which is why he’s only made cameo appearances so far.
Leeds United could use Patrick Bamford this weekend
Even though Bamford has yet to open his account this season, his experience will be a welcome boost for the squad this weekend.
The striker has made 190 appearances for the West Yorkshire giants throughout his career, scoring 60 goals in the process.
Last season, he managed to notch nine goals for the club and produced two assists.

After the opening four games, the Whites have made an undefeated start to the 2024-25 league campaign.
With two victories and two draws, Leeds currently sit in fourth place as the club prepares to return next weekend.
