Leeds ‘in conversations’ to sign Evan Ferguson and Man City sensation – Insider

Leeds United have been backed to sign both Evan Ferguson and James McAtee in the upcoming January transfer window.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, former Leeds United goalkeeper Paul Robinson, who remains very well connected to his old club, believes the Yorkshire giants “need an out-and-out striker” to bolster their squad.

Football Insider revealed on 22 November that Ferguson wants to quit Brighton in January to try and gain more regular first-team football elsewhere.

However, Leeds will face competition for his signature as Football Insider confirmed that Fulham, West Ham, and Leicester City are all monitoring him.

McAtee is also looking for more regular playing time and Football Insider revealed that Man City are looking to cash in on him in January.

“Go and get a striker,” Robinson told Football Insider.

“They need an out-and-out striker, I think they need a number nine.

“They need somebody, an old-fashioned striker.

“Evan Ferguson, those links with a Brighton striker, they don’t go away, he’s a player I’d love to see at Elland Road.

“He’s a pest to centre-halves, he’s going to get goals.

“They’re linked with some top-quality players, McAtee at Manchester City, Evan Ferguson, they’re in these conversations.

“Go and land one of those in January and get yourself into the Premier League.”
