Leeds in ground-breaking plan after ‘best-ever deal’ agreed – Kieran Maguire
Leeds United will now collaborate and share information with Red Bull’s multi-club network following their record-breaking partnership deal.
That is the view of finance expert Kieran Maguire, who exclusively told Football Insider that the deal between Leeds and Red Bull will also help the club comply with financial rules.
Leeds announced on Thursday morning (30 May) that they have struck a multi-year agreement with Red Bull as minority investors in the club as well as long-term shirt sponsors.
As revealed by Football Insider, sources described the package deal as “the best ever seen in the EFL” with the agreement set to be extremely lucrative for the Yorkshire club.
Leeds are understood to be close to their losses allowed under Profit and Sustainability Rules and the new partnership is set to assist the club in complying with financial regulations.
Maguire described the agreement as a “major deal” and explained that Leeds will work closely with Red Bull’s other clubs in their footballing network.

“I think it’s a fairly major deal because it’s a reflection of the size and stature of Leeds United within the football environment,” Maguire told Football Insider’s Sean Fisher.
“A global brand such as Red Bull wouldn’t get involved with a club unless they felt that there were future opportunities.
“So whilst the initial equity investment is not likely to be tens and tens of millions, it will provide a cash flow benefit over the course of the summer.
“That will go a long way in assisting the club in meeting their ongoing financial obligations.
“It will all be a part of Red Bull’s multi-club plan in football so there could be benefits in terms of knowledge being exchanged between the clubs.“
