Leeds must prepare for Anton Stach offers, stats show why he won’t be at Elland Road for long

Leeds United must be ready to field interest in Anton Stach from some of the Premier League’s elite this summer.

The German midfielder has been a revelation since he made the move to Elland Road last summer, and the £17million that the Whites shelled out to secure his signature has quickly been made to look like a bargain.

The 27-year-old stunned fans across the Premier League yet again in Saturday’s 1-1 draw away at Aston Villa, as he caught Emi Martinez off guard with an exceptional long-distance free-kick.

However, Stach’s game is about far more than just his wicked dead-ball delivery, and it has already become clear that Leeds will struggle to keep hold of him for much longer if he continues to show such promise.

Anton Stach among Premier League’s best for key stat

Leeds fans have heaped praise upon Stach for the impact that he has made since his move from Hoffenheim, and he has already become one of the first names on the teamsheet for Daniel Farke.

The midfielder ranks among the Whites’ best players in terms of tackles, and XXX, while he has now started in every single league game since 23 November.

That has coincided with the West Yorkshire outfit’s remarkable upturn in form, and Stach has played a key part in helping his team to put daylight between themselves and the relegation zone.

Stach’s numbers are impressive enough when compared to the rest of Farke’s squad, but he is also up there among the Premier League’s very best when it comes to key passes.

His tally of 46 can only be bettered by Declan Rice and Bruno Fernandes across the entire league at the moment, according to Sofascore, and those are two stars who commanded significantly bigger transfer fees than he did.

Stach’s unprecedented all-round ability means that it is hard to find true weaknesses within his game, and he possesses everything needed to become a truly dominant midfielder in the Premier League.

Leeds could easily double their money on Stach this summer

Stach’s performances are bound to have had some of the Premier League’s top clubs sitting up and taking notice in recent weeks, and that looks set to leave Leeds with a potentially big decision to make.

Offers for their star man are inevitable sooner rather than later, given the plaudits that he has received this term, and the Whites would surely be well-placed to hold out for at least double what they paid for him last summer.

Interest from bigger clubs is part and parcel of being a successful team in the Premier League, and that is something that Farke and Co. will have to contend with this summer, even if they ultimately beat the drop.

They have the added security of a long-term contract next to Stach’s name until the summer of 2029, and as a result, will only have to sanction a sale if it happens on their terms.

Stach has quickly become a favourite of the supporters at Elland Road, but strong displays often bring major consequences for bottom-half clubs.
