Leeds United will have to go out and sign up at least one new centre-back in the summer when Matthew Pennington’s loan expires leaving just Liam Cooper and Pontus Jansson to play in the heart of the defence.
Pennington has not had the greatest of times at Elland Road but Victor Orta should look to sign up another Premier League defence on loan, but this time it should be Manchester City’s towering centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo.
The Daily Mail reported in January that City have made Adarabioyo, 20, available for loan and he would be a brilliant addition to the Leeds defence for one season.
Sheffield Wednesday and a number of Premier League clubs were said to be interested in the England youth international, so it is clear that he is highly thought of and is of the quality that the Whites are in need of.
Standing at 6ft 4in, there’s little that beats the defensive colossus in the air and he is also very adept with the ball at his feet and has a bit of pace about him.
Adarabioyo has even played in the Champions League for Premier League giants Man City over the past couple of campaigns.
The only thing Adarabioyo lacks is experience, but playing alongside Cooper and Jansson could provide him with that.
Jansson may be someone who attracts attention in the summer, so there could be a few changes in defence that Orta will have to oversee.
One that he absolutely must seal though is to welcome Adarabioyo to Elland Road.
In other Leeds United news, Garry Monk has made a very bold claim about the Whites and has delivered his verdict on the threat of relegation.
