Leeds United should sell Samuel Saiz this summer.

Before the United faithful turn away in disgust and reach for their phone or keyboard to hammer out some choice words in reply, consider this.

The Spanish playmaker was on the pitch for the full 90 minutes last night (Wednesday) as Leeds were thrashed 3-0 by Wolves – it could have been treble that were it not for Bailey Peacock-Farrell in goal – and it was the same with the 3-0 shellacking against Middlesbrough at the Riverside last Friday.

Leeds’ play-off hopes are now in tatters and their season is threatening to fizzle out on the back of one win in their last 13 matches.

Paul Heckingbottom’s side are 13th in the Championship and nine points behind the final play-off spot, with no sign that the damage is likely to be reversed given the manner in which the team are playing.

Football Insider has fully analysed Leeds and Saiz’s performances this season, including considering off-the-pitch issues, as we detail five reasons why the club should accept a £10million bid for their main man.
