Leeds open talks over signing 24-year-old proven Premier League forward - report
By Alex Stevens
Leeds have made a sensational deadline day swoop for Swansea winger Modou Barrow, according to a report.
The Mirror claim the Championship big hitters are in talks with the Premier League club over signing wide forward Barrow on loan.
It is said that manager Garry Monk is lining up a reunion with Barrow, who he worked with at former club Swansea, and that negotiations are centred on a deal until the end of the season.
Monk has turned his attention to prising Barrow from the Liberty Stadium after Leeds’ bid to prise Ashley Fletcher from West Ham by Tuesday night appeared to be dead in the water.
TalkSPORT journalist and host Ian Abrahams took to Twitter on deadline day to stress that Fletcher “isn’t going to Leeds”.

The post by Abrahams, who is a West Ham expert, on his personal Twitter account appears to have brought an emphatic end to Monk’s attempt to land the striker for a second consecutive window.
Leeds are closing in on the loan signing of Villarreal winger Alfonso Pedraza after he completed a medical on Monday night.
The Yorkshire club’s pursuit of Barrow demonstrates they are still in the market for attacking reinforcements as they aim to secure promotion back to the Premier League.
Barrow, who joined the Welsh club in the summer of 2014, was a regular in the opening months of the season but last played for the club in their New Year’s Eve 3-0 defeat at home to Bournemouth.
Recently appointed Swans boss Paul Clement has left the wide attacker out of his squad for the last two games, which included an against-the-odds 3-2 win against Liverpool two weekends ago.
Barrow has played 19 games in all competitions this season, providing three assists, two of which have come in the Premier League.
He is a proven performer in the Premier League, creating seven goals and scoring two others in 55 Swansea appearances in two-and-a-half seasons.
Football Insider verdict:
Monk is keen to recruit a pacy wide man and Barrow would be an ideal January signing. He has proven in the top tier that he has the ability to get past players with his power and pace, and also has a few tricks up his sleeve. In theory, he should rip it up in the Championship. In Leeds, he would be joining a team with players on the same wavelength and who should be able to create the space for him to thrive out wide.
