Reliable journalist: Leeds summer overhaul underway as Heck looks to bag familiar faces

Paul Heckingbottom is already planning ahead for next season with moves for Olie McBurnie, Joe Williams and Andy Yiadom all on the cards, according to a reliable journalist.

Alan Nixon, sports writer for The Sun, made the transfer claim on his official Twitter feed and stated that deals for Swansea’s McBurnie and  Everton’s Williams would be attempted on loan or as permanent moves.

Yiadom meanwhile would arrive on a free as his contract ends in the summer.

Nixon wrote, ‘Leeds. Hecky wants some old faces. Future Scotland striker Oli McBurnie, midfielder Joe Williams and Andy Yiadom. All in pipeline.’

Moves for the trio will see all three reunited with Paul Heckingbottom and comes after club owner Andrea Radrizzani publicly slated the players, questioning their commitment following the defeat to Middlesbrough in the Championship.

We can’t see the arrival of Yiadom creating much excitement amongst the Whites faithful. The Barnsley defender has been part of a backline who have one of the worst defensive records in the Championship. McBurnie who is on loan at the Tykes from Swansea City has been firing in the goals since his switch to the Championship side in January and has netted six in nine games. With Pierre Michel-Lasogga and Kemar Roofe flattering to deceive up front, the Swans arrival would cause a stir. Williams meanwhile has impressed in the centre of the park throughout his loan spell at Oakwell from the Toffees.
