Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani has been back on Twitter to explain his rant about Wolves on Wednesday night.
After the Whites were swept aside 3-0 by the Championship leaders at Elland Road, Radrizzani expressed his concern about how Wolves’ connections to super-agent Jorge Mendes have made England’s second-tier and unfair environment to play in.
It has been widely reported that teams across the Championship have filed complaints to the EFL about how Wanderers have gone about their transfer business since Chinese owners Fosun took control of the West Midlands club.
However no one has been as vocal as Radrizzani, who took to his personal Twitter account yet against on Thursday afternoon to explain his rant from the night before.
“Firstly I would like to be clear that I have great respect for Nuno Santo and his team who have performed extremely well throughout the course of this season,” he said.
“I used last night’s fixture to raise longstanding concerns that I have regarding agencies having direct influence within clubs which I believe could breach EFL rules.
“The aim is to open a transparent debate regarding the rules and motivate the institutions to be vigilant with anything that can spoil the fairness of the competition, which I am encouraged to see the EFL taking seriously as per their statement earlier today.
“I believe it is vital for clubs in the Championship and beyond to operate on a level playing field.”
I am disappointed as all our fans for our recent results but I would like to clarify here my opinion about last nights tweets which create a lot of criticism. Our performances and the request of clarification on these matter are totally different issues pic.twitter.com/qnlYa2z1sm

Football Insider verdict
While it is fine for Radrizzani to take up an issue with how Wolves have been able to strengthen their squad this the talents of Ruben Neves and Diogo Jota, his rant on Wednesday night was ill-timed and embarrassing. It smacked of the Italian businessman being a sore loser and maybe he should take a look at his own business at Elland Road first. Leeds have backtracked since last season and that is nothing to do with Wolves’ dominance in the transfer market. He has made poor decisions that have seriously hindered the first-team squad. If the Whites had won against Wolves, would Radrizzani be ranting on Twitter? No. It was a rash and childish judgement which got the backlash it deserved.
