Leeds transfer budget revealed after stunning twist

Majority owner 49ers Enterprises is looking to take Leeds to the next step after securing their return to the Premier League.

Daniel Farke’s side claimed the Championship title to ensure the club’s latest spell outside the top flight would only last two seasons.

Football Insider revealed on 7 May Leeds will have a £150million budget in the upcoming summer transfer window as they look to cement their place in the Premier League.

The Whites are determined to avoid the same fate as last season’s promoted sides after Ipswich Town, Leicester City and Southampton have all been relegated.

Speaking to the BBC on 4 May, Marathe discussed the club’s ambitions following their title success.

He said: “Together we are going to build the best squad we can, with every penny we are allowed to spend to be competitive in the Premier League.”

The American also gave his backing to Farke after confirming he will lead Leeds into next season following speculation about his future.

Joel Piroe hit by crushing blow after Leeds reveal

Football Insider revealed on 6 May Leeds won’t build their attack around Joel Piroe as they look to put a squad together capable of remaining in the Premier League.

The 25-year-old ended the season as the Championship’s top scorer with 19 goals.

However, it is believed Leeds have question marks over Piroe’s ability to make the step up and won’t count on him as their first-choice striker next season.
