Leeds set sights on signing Bruno Ogbus in double swoop – sources

Leeds United are interested in signing Freiburg defender Bruno Ogbus before the transfer window shuts, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that the Championship giants face an uphill battle to land the 18-year-old this summer.

Leeds have an active interest in Ogbus but the Bundesliga club are in no rush to sell the left-back in this window.

The teen sensation is someone that Daniel Farke is interested in, but Freiburg sees his future with them for the upcoming season.

The deal is currently seen as complicated, but this is an area of the pitch that Farke wants to strengthen.

The Leeds boss hopes to recruit a left-back and a right-back to provide cover for new signing Jayden Bogle this season.

Leeds United sees Bruno Ogbus as a possible defensive option

Leeds showed frailties at the back in the season opener against Portsmouth, as the Whites drew 3-3 with the newly promoted side.

Ogbus is someone who the club sees as having the potential to help in that area despite his relative inexperience.

The teenage sensation is yet to make a first-team appearance for Freiburg but has impressed as part of the youth system.

Another player that Leeds have been linked with is Chelsea youngster Bashir Humphreys, who the Premier League giants are looking to sell this summer.

Leeds supporters have urged the club to make a move to try and sign him, but they face competition from Burnley.
