Exclusive: Leeds to listen to offers for senior star amid big Rangers reveal
Barry Douglas has put Rangers on alert by revealing his lifelong support for the club amid major doubts over his Leeds United future.
In a Q&A on the official Leeds United Twitter account, Glasgow-born Douglas revealed he is a fan of the Ibrox giants.
This comes at a time when his future at Elland Road is up in the air after slipping to third choice left-back when the season was suspended two months ago.
As revealed by Football Insider, Leeds are to listen to offers for the one-time Scotland international this summer regardless of promotion.
The Championship leaders are well placed to go up after soaring seven points clear of third place with nine matches remaining.
Douglas has made just four league starts among 13 appearances in all competitions this season and is behind converted wingers Dallas and Ezgjan Alioski in the left-back pecking order in Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
His revelation is likely to be of genuine interest to Rangers, given that he enters the final 12 months of his Leeds contract at the end of next month.
The Light Blues have the vastly improved Borna Barisic at left-back but he has little competition for his place and deputies Jon Flanagan and Andy Halliday are both out of contract this summer.
Douglas has failed to hit the heights at Leeds since his £3million move in the summer of 2018.
The former Dundee United star was outstanding for Wolves in their 2017-18 promotion campaign, when he supplied a remarkable 15 assists.
At Leeds, he has accumulated just 39 appearances in all competitions across two seasons and supplied just five assists.
In other Rangers news, it can be REVEALED that the club have agreed the terms of gamechanging new deal.
