‘Leeds starting duo who have been transformed this season will be let go’
Leeds United are preparing for a busy summer transfer window as they aim to back Daniel Farke ahead of their return to the Premier League.
A potential squad overhaul is on the cards as they are determined to avoid the same fate as Southampton, Leicester and Ipswich following their promotions last season.
As a result, multiple first-team stars could be allowed to leave to clear space in the squad and decisions will have to be made at Elland Road.
Former Leeds goalkeeper Paul Robinson, who remains very well-connected at the club, told Football Insider that both Junior Firpo and Brenden Aaronson will be let go.
The former is out of contract next month with no new deal on the table despite his first-team role this season, while doubts have emerged about the latter’s ability.
Both played key roles in Leeds’ promotion, though, as Firpo started 31 of his 35 appearances while Aaronson played the third-most minutes of any player in Farke’s squad.

Junior Firpo and Brenden Aaronson expected to leave Leeds
Robinson previously told Football Insider that Firpo and Aaronson will leave Leeds amid concerned that they are not Premier League-level players.
While both players have made notable improvements to their games over the course of the season, there is a growing feeling they can be improved upon in the market.
Meanwhile, former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Leeds could make six new top-level signings to strengthen their squad.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Robinson explained that Leeds have concerns about both Firpo and Aaronson’s abilities to step up to the Premier League after their previous struggles at the top level.
“Firpo will be let go because he got exposed in the Premier League,” he told Football Insider.
“Listen, I think he’s improved as a player.
“But in the Premier League, he got found out, he was susceptible defensively and I think he was culpable for a lot of goals they conceded.
“Brenden Aaronson isn’t a Premier League player.
“If Farke is going to play the same system in the Premier League, they need a number number ten.
“I don’t think Aaronson is good enough for the Premier League, he’s proven that he isn’t, he’s already been let go once and had to fight to get back into the Championship side.”

Daniel Farke to be backed with £100m+ transfer kitty
As part of their plans for a busy summer transfer window, there have been calls for the owners to put their money where their mouth is and back Farke.
Football Insider revealed on 11 May that Leeds are prepared to spend big this summer and will back the manager with a transfer kitty upwards of £100million.
This comes after chairman Paraag Marathe confirmed Farke would remain in charge despite speculation about his future at Elland Road.
Football Insider also revealed earlier this month that Leeds are eyeing ten new signings to prepare their squad for the Premier League.
