Chris Wood was once again missing from Leeds’ squad to face Cardiff – and Twitter had some interesting theories as to why.
The New Zealand striker has not featured since January 26 because of a hamstring injury but Steve Evans had assured fans 24 hours before the match that he would be in the matchday 18.
Wood is the Championship side’s top goalscorer and Leeds have managed just three goals in the five league matches he has missed.
Leeds announced their matchday squad without Wood anywhere in sight and Whites’ fans reacted with bewilderment and some outlandish conspiracy theories.

How many games now has Evans been saying wood will be ready for the next game? I'm sure he was gonna be ready for Watford? #lufc

The Watford game was on 20 February and Leeds lost 1-0.

Woods probably got a clause in his contract for getting X amount of goals. Thats why he won’t be played. #lufc

Compared to most of Leeds’ fans believing Wood to have gone AWOL, these two supporters actually had the most reasonable explanations of the night.
Where is Chris Wood? Did #lufc sell him to China on the sly?
