Leeds to launch record January signing spree after Leicester news – Fans react
Leeds United fans have called for the club to spend as much money as possible in January after Leicester City avoided punishment for breaching financial rules.
The Foxes were expected to be handed a points deduction following their promotion to the Premier League following an alleged breach of profit and sustainability rules.
However, in a statement issued via their official website, the club confirmed they were successful in their appeal against the charge.
The wording of the statement suggested that the club had found a loophole in the rules, while the Premier League’s statement confirmed that loophole was centred on their relegation.
Given the fact Leeds were relegated in the same season, fans are now insisting they could exploit the same loophole to spend big money in the next transfer window.
The club endured a difficult summer, partly due to financial restrictions, but have now been backed to enjoy a busy winter window.
Leeds United backed for big-spending January window after Leicester City news
Leeds were forced to cash in on the likes of Archie Gray and Crysencio Summerville in the summer window to avoid possible breaches.
However, after Leicester’s verdict, it appears they may have been able to avoid that situation.
It had been a difficult situation financially at Elland Road following their failure to win promotion back to the Premier League last season, and therefore missing out on the riches that would come with it.
Now, though, fans are insisting they should spend all the money they have in an attempt to achieve promotion this time around after what happened to Leicester.
In other news, Leeds fans were wowed by Brenden Aaronson as new footage emerged.
