Leeds told to submit increased Gus Hamer bid after confirmed news
Leeds United fans are demanding the club make an improved offer to sign Sheffield United midfielder Gus Hamer after what Chris Wilder said.
After reports claimed an initial £13million bid had been turned down, the Blades’ boss exploded in an angry post-match rant.
“I don’t know [if they’ll make another bid],” he said, “I really don’t know what they’re thinking. Everyone knows what the bid is.
“They’ve brought in £120million and are trying to nick our players for what the bid is. I don’t know what it was supposed to do but it hasn’t done anything, and it hasn’t from Gus’ point of view.”
Wilder’s frustration has led fans to demand a slightly improved bid of just £13.5million be made in the coming days to add to his angry response.
Leeds are targeting a new midfielder before the transfer window closes, and Hamer is an option on their list due to his previous displays at this level with Coventry.
However, the manager’s clear annoyance at the initial bid has made a possible deal even sweeter for supporters at Elland Road.

Wilder has held a long-standing issue with Leeds, having previously entered a spat with Marcelo Bielsa, and his emotions do not seem to have died down.
Multiple digs at the club over the years have inspired fans to aim taunts back at him, with his latest rant only adding fuel to the fire.
Leeds supporters have taken to social media in response to his frustrations and are imploring the club to continue to wind up the Blades manager.
