Sources: Leeds complete fifth summer signing as Bate undergoes medical
Lewis Bate is completing a Leeds United medical this afternoon after agreeing personal terms, Football Insider understands.
The Yorkshire giants have had a bid accepted by Chelsea for the young midfielder, 18, in a heavily-incentivised deal.
A Chelsea source has told Football Insider that the club have granted permission to Bate to head to Leeds and finalise the move.
He began medical tests today (Thursday) and then attention will turn to finalising personal terms.
As revealed by Football Insider yesterday, West Ham made a late move for Bate but he has his heart set on joining Leeds.
It is a major coup for United, even though the teenager is seen as one for the future than a first team-ready player.

He will initially link up with the Under-23s after being convinced that joining rejuvenated Leeds was better for his development than signing a new Chelsea contract.
The teenage midfielder has one year left on his Blues deal and has delayed signing an extension.
Bate will become Leeds’ fifth summer signing and their third teenage arrival following attacking pair Amari Miller and Sean McGurk.
United have also signed left-back Junior Firpo as well as converted Jack Harrison’s loan into a permanent transfer.
Bate is a highly rated talent who has already played for England at Under-17s and Under-18s level.
He was also named as part of an Under-19s national squad for a training camp in March of this year.
