Leeds United braced for multiple Premier League bids for Archie Gray – sources

Leeds United are braced for summer offers from multiple Premier League clubs for teen sensation Archie Gray, sources have told Football Insider.

A well-placed Leeds source has told Football Insider that Gray, 18, has “a lot of suitors” from across England and the club “will be tested” with bids.

It is believed that the final decision on Gray’s departure will come down to the player himself, who has excelled in his senior debut season at Elland Road.

The Leeds academy graduate had been on the radar of Premier League clubs in January, with Football Insider revealing (24 November) that Liverpool and Everton registered interest while Crystal Palace had also watched the youngster in action.

Daniel Farke’s side were adamant on keeping Gray for the remainder of the season at least, but interest is likely to be revived in the off-season.

Gray has had a phenomenal rise to recognition this season since making his senior debut on the opening day of the Championship campaign.

He has started 32 out of 37 games in the Championship this season and has bagged one goal and two assists.

The 2006-born ace has been praised for his incredible versatility after putting in exceptional performances at right-back, defensive midfield, central midfield and attacking midfield this season.

The England under-21 star has even earned recognition this week from Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate, who revealed that Gray is in the conversation for a senior call-up.

However, it is believed that Scotland, who Gray is also eligible to represent, are working to persuade him to switch international allegiances.
