Leeds United could be forced to accept Georginio Rutter offer – sources
Leeds United will be susceptible to offers for star forward Georginio Rutter if they don’t gain promotion to the Premier League, sources have told Football Insider.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that Wilfried Gnonto and Crysencio Summerville will also be wanted elsewhere if the Whites don’t return to the Premier League.
Rutter, 21, has been a standout performer for Daniel Farke’s side this season after a tough start to life at Leeds – who suffered a setback in their quest for promotion by drawing 2-2 away at Watford on Friday (29 March).
The Frenchman joined from Hoffenheim for a reported club-record £35.5million last year (2023) but failed to find the net as the Whites were relegated in the 2023-24 campaign.
Leeds susceptible to Rutter offers if not promoted this season
He has recaptured his best form in the Championship, notching seven goals and 18 assists in 41 games across all competitions this term.
Leeds are locked in a four-way battle for automatic promotion with Ipswich, Leicester and Southampton as the run-in approaches.
Speaking on Football Insider’s Inside Track Podcast, O’Rourke said: “If Leeds do miss out on promotion, there will be interest in Rutter and other top players at the club.
“The likes of Gnonto and Summerville will also be wanted elsewhere if that is the case.
“There’s so much up in the air in this race for promotion.

“If they do miss out, there will be interest – and that’s the difference when you’re not playing at the highest level.
“Leeds would find themselves susceptible to offers for their star players if they don’t go up.”
