Georginio Rutter: ‘Top clubs’ set sights on signing Leeds star

Leeds United forward Georginio Rutter is wanted by multiple “top clubs” ahead of the summer transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that Rutter could join a long list of players involved in a “mass exodus” at Elland Road.

The Yorkshire club are expected to offload several first-team players this summer after failing to return to the Premier League.

Leeds still owe £190million in transfer fees to other clubs from transfers made during Andrea Radrizzani’s ownership period.

As revealed by Football Insider, they are now under pressure to raise £150million in player sales this summer.

Among the list of Leeds players who could leave this summer is Rutter – who signed for the Whites in January 2023 for a club-record fee of £35.5million.

Leeds United mass exodus could include Georginio Rutter

The French forward enjoyed a prolific season under Daniel Farke with eight goals and 18 assists across all competitions in 2023-24.

Speaking on the Inside Track podcast, O’Rourke said: “As for Georginio Rutter, he’s had a good season for Leeds this year.

Obviously he was a big signing from Germany from Hoffenheim when they did sign him.

There are a lot of top clubs looking at him as well this summer.

There will be a mass exodus at Elland Road so they will batten down the hatches – there’s no doubt about that.
