‘Leeds make Brenden Aaronson exit call amid Bilal El Khannouss update’
Daniel Farke has turned his attention to the attacking midfield role as he continues to strengthen his Leeds United squad.
Amid the Whites’ battle to survive in the Premier League, Josh Brownhill is open to joining Leeds after leaving Burnley.
Farke has already bolstered his midfield by signing both Sean Longstaff and former Hoffenheim man Anton Stach.
But Leeds have now set their sights on a new playmaker, with their Premier League opener against Everton just around the corner.
Leeds decide on Aaronson exit as El Khannouss deal nears

Brenden Aaronson helped the Elland Road club on their way to the Championship title last season by notching nine goals and two assists in 46 second-tier appearances.
However, there are doubts over whether the attacking midfielder can produce the goods in the Premier League, as he scored just one goal when Leeds were relegated in 2022/23.
Meanwhile, according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri via X on Thursday, 31 July: “A meeting was held yesterday between Leeds United & Bilal El Khannouss’ camp, during which LUFC made clear they are willing to pay £24.5million release clause with solidarity contribution & taxes to Leicester City available until 15/08.”
Given that the Whites are ready to add another attacking midfielder to their ranks, Farke has signalled that he is willing to sanction Aaronson’s Elland Road departure.
Farke is right not be concerned by El Khannouss’ Leicester record

Appearances | 32 |
Goals | 2 |
Assists | 3 |
However, the 21-year-old suffered that fate with Leicester last term and scored just two goals in 32 Premier League appearances.
Farke is right not to be concerned by that, though, as last campaign marked El Khannouss’ first season in English football, let alone the top flight.
The starlet still boasts plenty of potential and should be ready to produce better performances in his second season in the Premier League.
Furthermore, Leicester were a weak side last term and did not successfully utilise last summer’s transfer window to strengthen their squad after winning the 2024 Championship title.
Contrastingly, Leeds have made eye-catching additions, predominantly from other top divisions in Europe, and El Khannouss will bring more Premier League experience to the table.
Meanwhile, Muniz has been backed to join the Whites from Fulham and help keep Farke’s side in the top flight in an MOT Leeds News exclusive.
