Leeds United ‘doing everything’ to keep Anton Stach after new transfer twist

Leeds United will do everything in their power to keep Anton Stach at Elland Road beyond the end of the season despite growing interest in his signature.

The 27-year-old scored a stunning free-kick during Leeds‘ 1-1 draw with Aston Villa at the weekend and has continued to impress with his performances.

Stach‘s consistently impressive displays since joining Leeds in the summer have led to interest from a number of clubs both in the Premier League and abroad.

However, former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Leeds are determined to keep hold of the midfielder with no plans to let him go.

Daniel Farke views Stach as a key part of his plans both immediately and for the future and will not entertain the idea of losing him this summer.

Leeds United hope to rule out Anton Stach sale

Leeds picked up another hard-fought point against Aston Villa which has dragged them further away from the relegation zone and closer to safety yet again.

Survival in the Premier League was the number-one priority at Elland Road before the season began, and will also hand them a boost in their attempts to keep their star players.

Clubs will be having a look at how Stach is playing for Leeds,” Brown told Football Insider.

“The top sides always want to know about players who are performing well in the Premier League, so they’ll be keeping an eye on him and making sure they know what he’s about.

“From a Leeds perspective, they have to be doing everything they can to keep him at the club.

“He’s become a very important part of the team under Daniel Farke and he showed again in the game against Villa why they rate him so highly.

“When he’s playing the way he has been for Leeds, it’s not a surprise that clubs might be looking at him, but it also shouldn’t be a surprise that Leeds don’t want to lose him.”

Leeds brace for offers for Jaka Bijol

Stach is not the only Leeds star attracting interest as a result of their upturn in form, with Farke’s change in tactics dragging them ever-closer to safety.

Brown told Football Insider on 17 February that Leeds are expecting offers for Jaka Bijol as a result of his imperious displays as part of their defensive line.

More than one Premier League club is believed to be keeping tabs on the 27-year-old, who has become a crucial part of Farke’s starting XI.

Should Leeds suffer relegation come the end of the season, they will find it very difficult to keep hold of the centre-back, but could struggle even if they stay up.

Bijol’s aggression and commitment to defending makes him stand out against other options, while they have also been key to the Peacock’s resurgence.
