Leeds United employee issues ‘massive’ Rodrigo verdict after Marsch reveal
Noel Whelan has heaped praise on Rodrigo Moreno after Leeds United drew against Southampton on Saturday.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the Whites ambassador and ex-Premier League striker said the 31-year-old is “massively improved” under Jesse Marsch.
Rodrigo started his fifth consecutive Premier League game on Saturday as Leeds edged closer to safety with a 1-1 draw with Southampton.
The Spain international has started every game of the Jesse Marsch era and is becoming a focal point of the side.
As quoted by Leeds Live (2 April), Marsch highlighted Rodrigo’s ability to “provide pause” in key attacking moments.
The Whites boss also revealed how the forward is very happy at Elland Road and believes he’s never been “on a team with so many great guys, and such a great energy.”
When asked by Football Insider deputy editor Russell Edge for his assessment on Rodrigo’s form, Whelan said: “Rodrigo has massively improved under Marsch.
“I think he has been given more belief by the manager. He is getting on the ball more and seems to have more time to influence the game on the ball over the course of the 90 minutes. That is what you want from him.”

Rodrigo has been one Leeds United’s most consistent performers this season, with five goals and one assist to his name in 24 league appearances.
The Whites signed the left-footer from Valencia in a £27million deal in August 2020.
In other news, a pundit has claimed Leeds United may have already found their replacement for Raphinha after source’s update.
