Injury expert issues 'brutal' Leeds claim as they're told to shield Firpo
Leeds United would be best advised to shield Junior Firpo from the “brutal criticism” they are currently receiving.
So says injury expert Ben Dinnery, who runs the Premier Injuries site and has a background in medicine and data analysis.
Fipro has missed the Whites’ last four games with an unspecified muscle problem picked up one of Marcelo Bielsa’s ‘murderball’ training sessions.
The 25-year-old has not yet shown the ability that led Leeds to sign him for £12.8million from Barcelona in the summer
As quoted by Leeds Live on 4 November, Bielsa said of Firpo: “He hasn’t been able to play a seven-out-of-10 performance”.
Leeds, who have won twice all season, face Leicester City on Sunday (7 November).

Dinnery predicts that Firpo will be fit enough to at least make the bench, though it might be better to hold him back.
He told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams: “I certainly think a place in the matchday squad is more than realistic.
“Alioski leaving Leeds has really changed the dynamic. With Firpo coming in, Leeds really needed him to hit the ground running.
“He’s still young, still transitioning to a new environment, but he hasn’t set the world alight so far.
“He’s ready to return but I don’t think it will do him any harm to be out of the starting XI at the moment, particularly when things aren’t going well for Leeds.
“There is a lot of quite brutal criticism levelled at them at this moment in time. It’s a bit of a perfect storm.
“They’ve massively underperformed. All of their data metrics across the board have been well down.“
