Leeds United fans are all saying the same thing about the players after Coventry defeat

Leeds United fans have lost hope of being promoted to the Premier League after their 2-1 defeat to Coventry City on Saturday afternoon (6 April).

The Yorkshire side kicked off against the Sky Blues knowing a victory would send them back to the top of the Championship table after Ipswich Town’s defeat to Norwich.

However, Daniel Farke’s side were unable to take advantage of Ipswich’s slip-up and suffered defeat courtesy of goals from Ellis Simms and Haji Wright.

Joel Piroe clawed a goal back for the visitors with 15 minutes remaining, but Leeds were unable to extend their 15-match unbeaten streak in the league.

Leeds now sit third in the Championship table – one point behind Ipswich and two points behind leaders Leicester City – Enzo Maresca’s side also boast a game in hand on their promotion rivals.

Leeds have five games remaining to try and secure automatic promotion back to the top flight or face a nerve-racking run in the play-offs.

Fans on social media went into a meltdown after their defeat and have accused their side of being “bottle jobs” and “choking” promotion.

Leeds return to action in the Championship next Tuesday (9 April) when they face Sunderland at Elland Road.
