Leeds United fans on social media want Crysencio Summerville to be dropped to the bench after his latest display in the 2-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday on Friday evening (9 March).
Daniel Farke’s side extended their unbeaten run in the Championship to 12 games after coming out on top in fierce a Yorkshire derby at Hillsborough.
The win took Leeds back into the automatic promotion spots in the Championship, but Ipswich Town could reclaim second place when they face Cardiff City on Saturday afternoon.
Summerville was named in Farke’s starting lineup on Friday evening, meaning the young Dutch playmaker has now started 24 consecutive league games for the Whites.
However, the 22-year-old failed to have an impact in the match and missed a key chance in the second half before being replaced by January loan signing Connor Roberts with seven minutes remaining.
Leeds fans on X, formerly known as Twitter, did not hold back on Summerville with some supporters pleading with Farke to drop him to the bench for their next game.
Leeds can now enjoy an eight-day break before returning to action against Millwall at Elland Road next Sunday (17 March).
They currently sit second in the table – two points behind leaders Leicester City – with nine league games remaining of the 2023-24 campaign.
