Leeds United fans rage at ‘disgusting’ moment in Huddersfield Town clash – ‘it’s vile’

Leeds United fans on social media slammed Huddersfield Town midfielder Jonathan Hogg for his ‘disgusting’ challenge during their 1-1 draw on Saturday afternoon (2 March).

Leeds missed the opportunity to apply pressure to league leaders Leicester City after dropping points at the John Smith’s Stadium.

The hosts took the lead through Michal Helik and moments later they were down to 10 men after Hogg received a second yellow for raising an elbow against Junior Firpo.

The 35-year-old was booked for a dangerous foul on Crysencio Summerville earlier in the half and supporters online argued, after analysing the latest footage, that his second challenge was worthy of a straight red card.

Leeds equalised in the second half through Patrick Bamford but they were unable to extend their winning run in the Championship to 10 games.

They now trail Leicester City by five points, but the gap to the top could be extended when the Foxes face QPR on Saturday afternoon.
