Leeds United fans slam Daniel Farke after Mateo Joseph twist
Leeds United fans have made their frustrations at Daniel Farke heard after an international twist involving Mateo Joseph.
Joseph, 20, has switched nationalities from English to Spanish in a bid to represent his country at the Paris Olympics in a move which will see him miss pre-season with Leeds.
However, supporters have suggested his absence will not cause problems for Farke as he would not have selected the striker ahead of Patrick Bamford even if he was available.
The forward broke onto the scene last season, making 28 appearances and scoring four goals, although just four of those appearances came from the start.
Despite his impact on games becoming clear when he was substituted on, his lack of regular involvement provided a source of frustration to supporters at Elland Road.
Leeds United fans’ frustrations boil over as Farke slammed for Joseph decisions
In March, fans were stunned by Joseph’s impact after a substitute appearance in a narrow 1-0 win against Stoke City, calling for Farke to hand him more involvement.
However, his absence has grown more of an issue for fans as frustrations begin to emerge, branding the boss’ lack of belief as “weird” and “bizarre”.
One fan warned that the team could struggle as a result.
Another questioned the striker’s decision to choose to represent his country over his club.
Others suggested the tournament may provide a chance for Joseph to show Farke what he is capable of.
