Leeds United fans stunned as three stars agree new contracts
Leeds United fans have been left stunned after the club announced contract extensions have been offered to Sam Byram, Liam Cooper and Cody Drameh.
Byram, 30, has already agreed to the extension which was based on his appearances last season, while Cooper, 32, and Drameh, 22, still have decisions to make about their future at Elland Road.
However, given the lack of first-team involvement for Cooper last season as he made just 19 appearances across all competitions, many have questioned Daniel Farke’s decision.
Drameh, meanwhile, has spent the last three years out on loan, most recently getting relegated with Birmingham, and has failed to break into the first-team at Leeds.
Byram made 37 appearances last year, establishing himself as the first-choice right-back, but fans have called for a new option to be signed in the summer transfer window.
Leeds United fans stunned at Cooper, Byram and Drameh contract news
It looks like being a turbulent summer at Elland Road as multiple first-team players are expected to leave after failing to gain promotion, while expiring contracts cause further issues.
Cooper and Byram could still leave the club if they choose not to sign their extensions, and fans have insisted neither should be staying at Elland Road.
Meanwhile, supporters insisted Byram should not be the first-choice option next season.
In other news, Crysencio Summerville will leave Leeds in a £30m+ deal.
