Leeds United fans won’t be happy after official update – Keith Wyness
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has insisted the focus of Leeds United’s Elland Road development will be on hospitality and corporate areas.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – claimed some fans will have a “problem” with more premium seating but insisted it “has to be done in this day and age”.
Leeds announced their next steps in plans to enhance their famous Elland Road stadium on Monday (23 September).
The headline was the commitment to “modernise and improve stadium capacity from 37,645 to around 53,000 seats”, but the club also pledged to improve hospitality facilities lower down in the statement.
It was also announced that a “core architectural design objective is to maintain and enhance the unique atmosphere” at Elland Road.
Leeds will focus on corporate areas in Elland Road rebuild, says Wyness
Wyness told Football Insider‘s Insider Track podcast: “Any new stadium build will focus on building up the corporate area and getting the revenue up.
“They’re building the stadium which will be fit for the Premier League – when they get their act together on the pitch.

“I’m get to see detailed plans but I expect some key new hospitality areas and revenue streams.
“It’s a problem for some fans. But I’m afraid it has to be done in this day and age.”
